Claremont

East Los Angeles

San Bernardino

  • California State University, San Bernardino. " California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is the sole public, comprehensive, university serving the Riverside-San Bernardino counties of Southern California.     Located equidistant between Los Angeles and Palm Springs, the university serves a vast area, extending from the Arizona border in the East to the Los Angeles county line in the West. Encompassing 29,000-square miles, the service area is greater in size than many states. The two counties served by CSUSB continue to have a population that is among the fastest growing in the nation.

    To meet the needs of so vast a population the university has established a satellite center that serves 1,000 students in the desert communities of the Coachella Valley. Cal State is in the midst of a public-private capital campaign that will build a permanent campus in Palm Desert. The first of three buildings is complete and the second will open in 2004. Cal State San Bernardino also is developing and expanding its distance learning capacity to reach site-bound students throughout the Inland Empire and beyond. San Fernando Valley
