  • Ramona Museum of California History. "The Ramona Museum of California History was first opened in 1972 on Figuroa in HIghland Park. The Museum offers an eclectic collection of artifacts and relics saved by its members since before the turn of the century. Since many of the members of Ramona Parlor were some of the early movers and shakers in Los Angeles, the collection becomes especially interesting and valuable. Visitors can view a sprig of Edelweiss picked in 1603 that had been circulated in circus tents and sideshows in Europe, slippers, combs and spurs used during the mid-1800s, artifacts and photos from the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire, unpublished photographs of Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders and an original Sheriff's "Booking Log" from the turn of the century."
  • San Gabriel Mission. "We the Community of San Gabriel Mission have been anointed in baptism and sent forth with compassion to witness to God's loving and liberating presence.

We celebrate with joy the Gospel of life and the sacraments which nourish and empower us with the Spirit of Christ. The history of our Catholic tradition, the experience of our families, and the diversity of our cultures, languages and gifts, strengthen and unite us as the Body of Christ.

We seek to follow the example of our Patron the Archangel Gabriel, who brought Good News to all the world and reminds us of our mission to be messengers of hope.

We are especially committed to and challenged by our worship, our desire to educate and form leaders among the children, youth and adults of our community, and our service to the poor and vulnerable.

The courageous examples of Mary and Saint Anthony Claret, Francis and Dominic, Junipero Serra, our Native American sisters and brothers, and all who have witnessed to the Gospel before us, inspire and guide us as an evangelizing, missionary parish called to build God's Reign of harmony and peace within our families, community and world."
