• YMCA - Gardena/Carson. "The Gardena-Carson Family YMCA is the largest not for profit community service organization in the Gardena area. It is an important part of community life in the many neighborhoods it serves.
  
  The Gardena-Carson Family YMCA service area is over 27 square miles and includes the cities of Gardena, with approximately 60,000 residents; Carson, with a population approaching 100,000 and parts of the Harbor Gateway community.
  
  A volunteer board sets policy for its executive director, who manages the operation with a full-time and part-time staff and volunteer leaders.
