Craftsman-style homes, unique small businesses and its outstanding

- South Pasadena High School.
"South Pasadena High School is in its 101st year in the same location!
We are very proud of our long tradition of strong academics, athletics,
activities, alumni participation, parental support, and school spirit.
Our Centennial Graduation in June, 2006, was cause for celebration
throughout the community and among the thousands of alumni who shared in
the excitement.
At South Pasadena High School, we say that our students are “grown
locally to make an impact globally, deep into the 21st Century.” That
slogan plays out through the many programs offered at our school. Our
students are expected to demonstrate their learning through applications
beyond the classroom. Examples may be seen in the Senior English
Community Outreach Business Plans and presentations, our student-run
silk screening and student store companies, the World History “Save the
World” project, volunteerism for our Community Service graduation
requirement, our design classes, Associated Student Body and club
activities, and so much more.
Looking at old photos, it is clear that many changes have taken place at
SPHS. Our campus has been transformed several times through facility
bonds supported by the residents of the City. Along with our classrooms,
our athletic facilities have benefited from new construction and
cosmetic and safety upgrades.
We have many reasons for our Tiger Pride. Our students are friendly and
hardworking, our teachers are dedicated and devoted, our parents are
supportive and involved, and we live in a community that supports its
schools. Diversity among our student body leads to a very diverse array
of involvement opportunities for students; this is a place where
students can “find their niche within a niche.” While we are on a
journey of continual improvement, we do stop to appreciate how very
special it is to be a part of South Pasadena High School."
