Buddhist
- Gardena Buddhist Church. "Eitaikyo is literally the sutras perpetuated for eternity, meaning that the sutras will be left for future generations. Through the designated memorial donations made to the temple for the Eitaikyo or Memorial Fund, the articles and books needed to make the sutras or teachings and the rituals accessible to future generations are being made possible. It is not that we are providing for memorial services to be held for our ancestors, but our ancestors are providing the vehicle for us to ensure the future. Because of what our teachings and our temple meant to our ancestors and to us, we are providing the link that will assure the accessibility of that teaching for future generations.
We look at the naijin and all the pieces without giving it any thought, but each piece can hold a lesson for us and, as a whole, it should communicate a sense of harmony and balance to us. It gives us an insight to the reality of the Pure Land and shows us what we should strive to attain in this life. The harmony and balance is something that is rarely found in our lives and is an example of what could be.
Let us take this opportunity to listen to the teachings and help ensure the vitality and the availability of that teaching for the future and maintain our temple so it can continue to provide the vision of what our world could be. This will bring to life the true meaning of our teaching and of this observance."Christian
- Gardena Valley Baptist Church. "Currently we are a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-generational Christian community, who worship God in two languages (Japanese and English) While focusing our ministry on reaching the Asian community in the South Bay area, we welcome and minister to everyone."
Jewish
- Congregation Beth Torah. "Congregation Beth Torah (formerly South West Temple Beth Torah) has been servicing the South Bay Jewish Community for almost 60 years. First in Gardena and now in Torrance.
It has always been our goal to be the most affordable synagogue in the area. We believe that all that want to worship and socialize in a conservative shul should be able to do it at an affordable cost.
We offer a 'hamish' atmosphere and a deep history to all of those who wish to join us. We invite any and all in our Jewish community to "try us on for size" by visiting during a Friday night or Saturday morning service."
